New future for a Modernist Building in Olhão

The Olhão former Fish Auction is 'Modernist Architecture' from 1956. The fish auction was intended for the transaction of bulk fish. The architectural composition that is characteristic of the mature period of the Modern Movement (after the war) is well reflected in its industrial application, for example in the loose portals at the front, the ray-shaped concrete overhangs at the backside and in the composition of the facade elements.
In the future this former Fish Auction, located on the west side of the city's Fishing Port, next to Avenida 16 de Junho, will be transformed into a space for «Innovation and Tasting in the area of Restaurants». It has already been repainted in anticipation of future developments.
